Dental Blues
Yesterday I got my last two baby teeth yanked out of my face. It wasn't the best experience ever, but now I can get braces. Joy to the world. :/ I now have to rinse my gross gum holes with salt water 3-4 times a day and stay on a soft food/liquid diet for who knows how long. Anyway, back to getting them yanked. On the right side, I totally couldn't feel it but on the left side..... I got renumbed three times. I also got numbed another time on both sides. He made me hold my breath and count to ten. It must've been a distraction technique but honestly, it didn't work. I could feel all ten seconds of the horrible needle sticking into my gums.I couldn't really move the left side of my mouth until about four pm so it was embarrassing to talk too. After both teeth were finally out, I had to bite some gauze to staunch the blood flow or something. As most of you may know, I have a bad gag reflex from years of strep cultures so for a while, I was trying not to choke on that stupid gauze. Luckily, when I got home I watched one of my fave movies ever, The Phantom of the Opera (I'm also going to go see the play tonight at the Boulder Dinner Theater tonight. Obsessive right? ;)) and had some soup. All's well that end's well I suppose.

Sorry. But--enjoy Phantom at the Boulder Dinner
ReplyDeleteTheater (will you be able to eat anything?)
Grandma
I ate herb-crusted cod and I could eat it just fine:) I also had some cheesecake. The play was really good but it didn't follow the book as closely as I thought it would. The actors were all fantastic though.
